With Barack Obama winning the presidential election a few weeks ago, he has been picking his cabinet members. Personally, I believe he should choose more wisely than he has already.

Obama has mostly chosen people who worked in the Clinton Administration, and one from the Bush Administration. I believe that even though the people who worked with President Clinton can get the job done, to me it doesn’t seem like real change, and that Obama’s Administration might be a repeat of Clinton’s, even though Clinton’s presidency was one of the best in US history.

But what has me flaring up is Obama’s choice for Secretary of Defense! HE PICKED THE SAME GUY THAT BUSH HAS HAD FOR THE PAST TWO YEARS!!! Obama is going to keep Sec. Robert Gates as Secretary of Defense in the first year 1/2 of his presidency. To me, that really doesn’t represent change at all. Gates is for the war and shared John McCain’s same message of, “100-years in Iraq,” and,”Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb IRAN!” That really sends the wrong message for Obama, and I think that it will be incredibily hard for Obama to work with Gates on bringing our troops home from Iraq.

Even though I was a proud supporter of President Obama in the general election, I believe that he really should pick the remaining openings in his administration carefully.
